Monthly writing workshops to keep you on track, fueled up, and inspired. All levels. All abilities. Writing prompts. Community. Let's make art together to remember we can remake the world.

RIGHT TO WRITE is a twelve-month writing workshop series. On the second Tuesday of every month, I’ll lead a two-hour, virtual writing workshop based on a theme. You’ll get a mini lecture from me about that theme, a ton of writing exercises you can use on your own again and again, camaraderie (the classes will be on video so we can see each other!), and – perhaps most important of all – accountability.

They say 99% of writing is just keeping your butt in the chair, just showing up and doing the work. But writing is also about not getting stuck in the same old ruts. It’s about experimenting. It’s about feeling so inspired you don’t mind getting up at five in the morning dark to write when everyone else in your household is still asleep. It’s about being part of a community of artists and writers and makers and dreamers trying to imagine our way to a better world.

Here's the schedule:

March 12, 2019: Description
April 9, 2019: Writing about Images
May 14, 2019: Genre
June 11, 2019: Erasure

We’ll meet in virtual space on the second Tuesday of every month from 8-10 pm EST/ 5-7 pm PST. We’ll meet on Zoom, so you’ll be able to see everyone. The classes will be recorded, so if you miss one, you’ll be able to catch up. And I’ll send an email with the prompts and some bonus prompts after every class.
